Domestic markets ended the session on Wednesday marginally in the red on weak European cues.
The 30-share BSE index Sensex was down 13.77 points (0.07 per cent) at 18,731.16 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was down 2.25 points (0.04 per cent) at 5,691.20.
Among 30-share Sensex, Sterlite up 4.05 per cent at Rs 88.55, M&M up 3.8 per cent at Rs 877.70 and Sun Pharma up 3.4 per cent at Rs 919.95 were the top performers.
On the other hand, RIL down 3.78 per cent at Rs 774.10,Wipro down 1.77 per cent at Rs 374.95 and TCS down 1.73 per cent at Rs 1,459.20 and were the major laggards,
On the BSE, metal, FMCG and auto sector stocks were the top performers with each up by over 1.2 per cent, while oil & gas (down 2.12 per cent), IT (down 1.14 per cent) and TECk (down 0.77 per cent) were the worst-hit.
European stocks were down, led by commodity producers, and industrial metals declined. Asian markets ended higher.
