Shares of Bharti Airtel dropped by more than 3 per cent after the Supreme Court put the brakes on the company expanding its 3G customer base in seven circles where it does not hold the licence.
The court has said that while its existing customers in these circles would continue to have the 3G services, no new 3G customers could be added till a final court order, according the reports flashed by TV channels.
The stock shed Rs 8.80 or 3.12 per cent to trade at Rs 272.85 in the NSE with a trading volume of 20.25 lakh shares at 12.25 pm today.
