Shares of Coal India fell to 2-1/2 month low as the stock started trading ex-dividend on Tuesday.
The stock fell as much as 5.5 per cent to Rs 298.95, its lowest since January 2.
The stock was the biggest percentage loser on benchmark NSE index.
The stock was down for a fifth straight session and recorded its biggest intraday percentage drop since November 9, 2016.
