IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has been awarded the CEP certification (Certificates of Suitability dated April 17) for metformin hydrochloride by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & Healthcare Authorities, Council of Europe, France. The certificate is valid for a period of five years. This will enable the company to sell metformin hydrochloride in Europe resulting in higher value-added export turnover and better margins. The company is already holding a valid CEP certification for Ibuprofen and Lamotrigine and are selling these in Europe. Shares of IOL Chemicals closed at ₹52.50 on the BSE, up 3.14 per cent.

Omkar Speciality Chemicals has informed the exchanges that it has received orders worth ₹100 crore in April. The intermediate and active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturer will executed then order in the current financial year. Shares of Omkar Speciality Chemicals rose about 5 per cent to ₹149.05 on the NSE.

Hanung Toys & Textiles has informed the exchanges that the reference of the company filed under Section 15(1) of the Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions) Act, 1985, on the basis of full erosion of its net worth on the basis of its half-yearly accounts as at September 30, 2014, has been registered vide a BIFR letter dated April 27, 2014. The reference has been filed to adopt measures and rehabilitate the company out of sickness. Shares of Hanung Toys slumped 8.65 per cent at ₹17.7 on the NSE.
