SPML Infra has received two new orders, one from Rajasthan and the other from Telangana, worth a total ₹812.49 crore, for making infrastructure to supply drinking water in the two states. The order worth ₹549.87 crore has been received from Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Telangana, for providing drinking water in the Manthani-Bhupalapally area for a period of 10 years. The company will be executing this project in joint venture with Megha Engineering and Infrastructure. The scope of the other order, worth ₹262.62 crore, from Rajasthan includes installation of two pumping stations, construction of 14 overhead service reservoirs and four clear water reservoirs. Shares of SPML Infrastructure surged 12.3 per cent at ₹61.9 on the NSE.

Life Insurance Corp of India has acquired 14 lakh shares of Bharti Airtel from the open market. Following the acquisition, its overall exposure in the telecom major rose to 5.02 per cent. Shares of Bharti Airtel slipped 1.7 per cent at ₹318.90 on the NSE.

The board of directors of Balkrishna Industries has approved a proposal of amalgamation of its wholly owned subsidiary - BKT Exim - into it. Shares of Bakrishna Industries edged up 4.3 per cent at ₹599.65 on the NSE.
