The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given in-principal approval for strategic disinvestment of 26 per cent of the government’s 54.03 per cent equity stake in Bharat Earth Movers. The shareholding would be sold to strategic buyers, who would be identified by the Government of India by following due procedure, the company said in an exchange filing. Investors will keep a close eye on the divestment programme.
