The food safety regulator of Uttar Pradesh has filed a lawsuit against Nestle India alleging that samples of Maggi instant noodles did not meet standards in lab tests. A Bloomberg report quoted Vijay Bahadur, Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety & Drug Administration, UP, as saying that “a case was filed in a local court after lab tests showed Maggi noodle samples substandard.” Analysts will closely monitor the development.
