Shares of GVK Power & Infrastructure fell as much as 9 per cent to Rs 5, their lowest since June 10, 2016. The company's March quarter loss widened, hurt by an 87 per cent jump in expenses.
GVK Power shares opened at Rs 5.40 and traded between Rs 5.42 and Rs 5.05 on the BSE in morning deals.
The company's shares were quoting at Rs 5.34, down 3.96 per cent on the BSE against Wednesday's close of Rs 5.56.
About 4.8 million shares were traded in morning deals, nearly twice the stock's 30-day average.
