Metal stocks Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel rode up to emerge among the top gainers on the BSE by close on Monday. At 3.20 pm Hindalco Industries was trading at ₹138.50, up 4.73 per cent on its previous close of ₹132.25.
Energy stock ONGC trimmed some of its morning highs to quote at ₹335.05 as against ₹329.10 at close last week. This represented a gain of 1.81 per cent.
Reliance Industries also retreated from its early levels to trade at ₹945, up 1.80 per cent on its previous close of ₹928.30.
Larsen & Toubro gained 1.79 per cent to quote at ₹1,285.80. It had closed the previous session at ₹1,263.15.
Tata Steel was trading at ₹397.20 as against ₹390.75 at close on Friday. This represented a gain of 1.65 per cent.
