The fourth unit of NHPC’s Teesta Low Dam Project has started producing electricity. The State-owned firm will start commercial operations from the 40-MW unit beginning Friday. The power generated from the unit will be supplied to West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Analysts will closely monitor NHPC, as it sells power at tariffs set by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. These tariffs enable the company to fully recover costs.
