Steel and banking stocks dragged the markets up on Tuesday. At 3.40 p.m. Hindalco Industries was the top gainer on the Nifty. It was quoting at Rs 113.60, up 7.58 per cent on its previous close of Rs 105.60.
Bank of Baroda made gains of 5.64 per cent to quote at Rs 576.75 as against Rs 545.95 at close on Tuesday.
IndusInd Bank was trading at Rs 411.20, up 4.83 per cent on its previous close of Rs 392.25.
Punjab National Bank spurted 4.82 per cent to trade at Rs 565.80. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 539.80.
Sesa Sterlite closed up 4.61 per cent at Rs 182.50 as against Monday’s close of Rs 174.45.
