Tata Motors maintained its firm undertone but was off its morning highs in late trading on the BSE on Tuesday. At 2.30 pm it had edged lower to hold gains of 5.39 per cent at ₹471.50 as against its overnight close at ₹447.40.
On Monday the company announced that it had posted a three-fold increase in Q1 net profit at ₹5,398 cr.
GAIL (India) made further ground to hold gains of 4.58 per cent at ₹408. The stock had ended the previous session at ₹390.15.
HDFC built on its early gains. It was up 4.55 per cent at ₹1,106.85 as against Monday’s close at ₹1,058.70.
ONGC held steady in late trading. It had made gains of 2.57 per cent at ₹403. The stock finished yesterday’s session at ₹392.90.
Sun Pharma Industries rose 2.56 per cent to quote at ₹782.90. The stock ended the previous session at ₹763.35.
