Catholic Syrian Bank has tied up with mobile payment app Chillr, enabling customers to instantly transfer money for fund transfer and payment services.
The app is easy to use and is available on Android and coming soon on Windows and iOS operating systems, the bank said in a statement.
Anand Krishnamurthy, Managing Director and CEO, CSB, said: "It has been our constant endeavour to provide a technologically-advanced service experience in line with customer expectations. This is also a sign of our commitment to bring financial technology to customers.''
According to Sony Joy, Founder and CEO, Chillr, more than 3 lakh users have successfully linked their bank accounts through the app and more than nine lakh transactions have been made as of today.
Chillr is also an important tool for financial inclusion in rural markets, allowing migrant workers to remit money to family back home in a secure manner. The company aims to tie up with 30,000 merchants and on-board 15 leading banks by the end of March 2016.
Apart from sending and receiving money, the bank’s customers can enjoy a host of other features like special discounts with specific merchants, recharging prepaid mobiles, DTH and data cards, splitting of bills between friends/colleagues as well as a quick means of checking one’s account balance, he added.
