AirAsia India's first Airbus A320 landed at Chennai airport this morning.
The aircraft flying from France via Turkey landed in Chennai at 9.11 am, said a source in Chennai airport.
Air Asia India has received in-principle approval to import 10 Airbus A-320 aircraft. Air Asia has tied up with the Tata group and the Arun Bhatia-led Telstra Tradeplace to launch AirAsia India, which will operate a low-cost passenger airline service in the country.
According to the source this was a ferry aircraft or a new aircraft being delivered to a customer from its place of manufacture.
The AirAsia CEO recently said the airline is like to start operations in March or April.
