Apollo Hospitals Group and Health Education England (HEE) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote co-operation and interaction in healthcare education between India and England.
Health Education England (HEE) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health.
The collaboration, as part of a MoU signed by both, intends to facilitate exchange of medical professionals and students, explore the possibility of setting up a global healthcare school to enhance learning änd healthcare workforce of both countries, among others.
Commenting on the development, Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said: "With this collaboration, we will be establishing one of the foremost platforms to train the healthcare workforce of the world.’’
It will help in augmenting the quality of patient care, he added.
Keith Pearson, Chair, HEE, speaking on the occasion, said: "Through this collaboration, we will be not only delivering our high quality medical education programmes to the workforce in India but also in future, to workforce in other low and middle income countries of the region.’’
