The HCL Technologies board will consider share buyback today. The proposal comes within a month of TCS declaring a ₹16,000 crore share buy-back programme. Last year, HCL Tech bought back shares worth ₹3,500 crore.  

Former top American diplomat and national strategist Henry Kissinger will deliver a rare speech on the US-India relationship at the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum's first annual Leadership Summit, in Washington. Kissinger is among the few individuals frequently consulted by President Donald Trump on issues relating to foreign policy and national security.

NCLAT will hear pleas with regard to Bhushan Power & Steel bids. UK-based Liberty House has moved NCLAT against the committee of creditors and resolution professional of Bhushan Power & Steel seeking information on the bid finalisation process of the firm. The NCLT had on April 23 directed BPSL’s lenders to consider the bid submitted by Liberty House. This order was later challenged by Tata Steel, another resolution applicant of BPSL, before NCLAT, which is also listed for hearing today. 

BJP president Amit Shah will hold discussions with JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today. This is Shah’s first visit to Bihar after Kumar’s JD(U) rejoined the NDA last year. The BJP president’s Bihar visit is considered important from the point of view of finding a way out on the prickly issue of seat sharing among NDA partners for next year’s Lok Sabha election.
