India on Friday expressed hope that a solution would be found soon to the troubles that Indo-US relations are going through after the arrest of Indian Deputy Consul General in New York, Devyani Khobragade.
“You have to find a solution and I hope that we will find a solution. I am conscious of the fact that this is a valuable relation between two countries and a relation in which enormous investments have been made, not only by governments but by the private sector, by groups of individuals, by organisations, by individuals, and I think when we deal with each other, we have to keep that entire gamut of different dimensions of our relations in mind,” External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said. The Minister was speaking to the media after a meeting with the visiting Foreign Affairs Minister of Venezuela Elías Jaua Milano.
Pointing out that both nations think it is important to preserve the relationship, Khurshid said the only “question is what to do when something happens that is irksome, that is hurtful, that is unacceptable."
