Apollo Hospitals has launched specialised headache-migraine and memory clinics.

The Apollo Headache & Migraine Clinic at its main hospital in Chennai will offer the support of a neurology consultant, psychologist, physiotherapist and family physician to patients.

There has been a long-felt need for focused treatment for headache and migraine, which are among the most common ailments experienced by people in the country and Apollo’s specialised clinics will serve the objectives, said neurosurgeons and neurologists of Apollo Hospitals.

“About 10-20 per cent of the population is affected by headaches. Mostly young people, particularly women, are affected by this. Sometimes, frequent headaches are symptoms of underlying causes. But most headaches are treatable,” said Arul Selvan, senior consultant neurologist, Apollo Hospitals.

Apollo Memory Clinic will provide multidisciplinary support in the identification, investigation and treatment of memory disorders, including dementia and Alzheimer’s at an early stage.

“The initiative is part of Apollo’s vision to bring all specialised treatments to India,” said Prathap C Reddy, Executive Chairman Apollo Hospitals Group.
