Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today flagged off trucks carrying relief material and announced to give Rs 1 crore out of Disaster Relief Fund of the state government for the rain victims in Tamil Nadu.
He described the Tamil Nadu floods as a national disaster and said that people of the southern state have been facing many problems due to it.
Khattar also urged the people of Haryana to go to haryanacmoffice.gov.in to contribute to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Speaking after flagging off the relief trucks from Panipat today, he said that people of Haryana should help the people of Tamil Nadu in this hour of need.
“As Panipat is famous for its blanket industry, therefore the government has decided that it would send relief in the form of bed sheets and bedding worth Rs 21 lakh for the help of flood victims. The relief material would be deposited in the storage camp set up at stadium in Chennai,” he said, according to an official release here.
