Apollo Hospitals, which has a presence in 17 States, is willing to participate in health camps under State government guidance, said Prathap C Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Hospitals.
Addressing media persons on Friday, he said over 9,000 doctors associated with the hospital chain have pledged to support this move.
This follows the Prime Minister’s call on Thursday for doctors to attend to poor pregnant women. Apollo Hospitals, in response, will participate in such programmes.
In addition, doctors – spread across all specialities – will also participate in such health camps and consultations, he said.
Increasingly, lifestyle diseases are threatening even the young. The hospital chain daily sees heart attacks or strokes striking people even in their thirties. Early screening and diagnosis are key to successful treatment.
Preetha Reddy, Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, said this move by the Group makes available over a million man hours of clinical expertise yearly.
