In a boost to the newly carved out state of Telangana, the credit rating agency ICRA has rated it as A category economic force.
The same agency had rated the undivided State of Andhra Pradesh as A ‘minus’ in the past but has now placed Telangana in the A category, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.
The rating comes in the backdrop of repayment capabilities of Government loans borrowed from national and international agencies. The rating agency has found Telangana in a sound position in terms of tax revenue.
The report by the rating firm mentioned that the per capita income of the State was Rs 95,361 against the national average of Rs 74,380.
