The Tamil Nadu Assembly session begins today. As the call for prohibition gets louder, the issue is likely to dominate the agenda. The Opposition is also likely to bring up the issue of Tangedco’s agreement with Adani Group for a solar park in Ramanathapuram. The demands for grants to various departments will come up for discussion during the session.

SEBI will today take up the SIT report on black money. The SEBI board will check whether more steps are needed to check misuse of P-Notes for laundering unaccounted money. The SIT report has called for reviewing rules on P-Notes.

The CA Institute and apex industry chambers will meet today to discuss if the adoption of new revenue standard IndAS 115 should be put off. This follows International Accounting Standards Board deferring the implementation of IFRS 15 (Ind AS115 equivalent) to January 1, 2018. The new standard is to be in force from April 1, 2016.

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea may today deliver its verdict in the Italian marines case. India has sought rejection of Italy's plea to hand over the marines, accused of killing two Indian fishermen off the Kerala coast in 2012.

The two-day annual meet of customs and excise chiefs opens today. This year’s meet will focus on GST, taxpayers’ services, ease of doing business and Make in India. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the conference and deliver the keynote address.
