Two MBA students of the Chennai-based SRM University share their views:
Sachin is not transitory, like Bollywood actors. He is and has been the face of the Indian and world cricket. In the world of advertisements, he has the performance connect plus the personality connect.
“You've got to create heroes and you've got to pay them,” said Mark Mascarenhas of WorldTel back in 1995 after he made Sachin India's first multimillionaire sportsperson. Sachin is a cricketer and a brand all rolled into one. Sachin’s value will not diminish; it will shine forever.

Sachin Tendulkar can leave cricket, but cricket can’t leave the ‘God’. Even though Sachin has decided to hang up his boots after his 200th test match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, the Little Master has various possibilities to enjoy a fulfilling retired life in which cricket will be an integral part.
IPL has come as a boon for some former players who believed they still have a lot to pass on in terms of cricketing acumen. It will be really interesting to see Sachin interviewing M.S. Dhoni or a Virat Kohli in the way former cricketers like Shastri and Gavaskar have done with Tendulkar.
With Sachin having spent 24 years in international cricket, no one knows better the trials and tribulations a young cricketer goes through.
Although Sachin might not be too keen to go into administration, he could give it a shot considering the tragic circumstances the Indian cricket administration finds itself in.
A former cricketer as the head of an association or occupying a vital post in BCCI bodes well for Indian cricket.
It won’t be long before Sachin gets back to cricket in some way or the other. And fans would love to see him back in action.
