For a company that had been plagued with a 50-day strike at its Chakan plant (called off, earlier this week) an admission by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan that a visit there has served to change the way he views work can only come as a shot in the arm.
Sharing the stage with Bajaj Auto chief Rajiv Bajaj, Khan, introduced as the first customer of the KTM Duke 200 launched last year, explained that he first visited the Chakan plant when he was at a low, post his film Ra.One . “Every time I get bogged down by the bigness and newness of work, the visit inspires me.”
He has started thinking bigger after the visit and one of the fall-outs was his decision to go ahead with building the VFX post production studio being set up by Red Chillies Entertainment, as per international standards. “Every time I get thwarted I call him (Rajiv) and get inspired again,” he said.
Confessing that this was his first bike, and he was a die-hard aficionado of the Austrian-Indian sports bike KTM, SRK said that if he gets his say, racing sequences with the bike could well be a part of his forthcoming film Happy New Year , currently being shot in Dubai. “Not as a branding exercise, but because I love the bike,” he clarified, adding that he was an avid biker and found time to ride the streets of Mumbai from time to time.
