An explosion at a pharma unit in the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City resulted in injuries to 11 workers.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning when the ammonia compressor in one of the units run by Glochem Industries exploded. The Hyderabad-based bulk drug and speciality chemicals pharma company had set up a unit in the Pharma City last year.
According to officials of the JN Pharma city, the fire was put out quickly and the injured was taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Of the injured, the condition of three is reported to be critical.
Incidentally, last year a fire in one of the warehouses of the same unit had gutted the entire factory. Luckily there were no casualities.
