Lanco Infratech Limited has won awards for its Udupi and Tanjore power projects located in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for their sustainable practices and the contribution to environment, health and safety.
At a Confederation of Indian Industry– Southern Region event, Lanco’s Udupi Power Corporation Ltd, a 1200 MW imported coal-based thermal power plant in Karnataka won three awards for its environment, health and safety (EHS) practices.
Lanco Tanjore Power Plant (formerly known as Aban Power Company) bagged the first prize in the ‘Environment Protection and Management’ category. This was in recognition to its contribution to cleaner production of electrical power as well as its commitment towards environmental pollution control and resource conservation.
Lanco Tanjore power plant operates a 120 MW gas based combined cycle power plant at Karuppur village in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu since 2005.
