ABB, power and automation technologies major, has registered a rise of 33 per cent in net profit to Rs 51.63 crore on a standalone basis for the second quarter this calendar year (2012).
The company’s revenues also grew 10 per cent to Rs 1,883.79 crore in the same quarter, while EPS stood at Rs 2.44 (Rs 1.83).
The company received orders worth Rs 2,045 crore during the quarter ended June 30, registering a growth of 14 per cent during the same period last year.
While businesses catering to the power sector continued to reflect growth, a not so positive investment climate affected the automation businesses. The company’s order backlog stood at Rs 9,175 crore at the end of second quarter compared with Rs 8,415 crore for the corresponding period in 2011.
