Actuant India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based Actuant Corporation, has opened a manufacturing facility in Bangalore.
“The new facility will further strengthen our commitment to source, produce and sell solutions specially designed to delight our local customers,” said Robert C. Arzbaecher, the company’s Chairman and CEO.
The facility spans 25,000 sq ft with the option of scaling up to 100,000 sq ft. It will manufacture products for three of Actuant’s businesses — Power-Packer, Enerpac and Hydratight. The company, with a workforce of 90, earlier functioned from a 16,000 sq ft facility.
Actuant India has achieved about $10 million in revenue since launch.
Its medium-term objective is to grow the business organically and via acquisitions to reach $50 million. “The company plans on increasing the workforce commensurate with its plans to grow Actuant India’s penetration of various product lines in the region,” said Varun Vijay Rao, Managing Director, India. “Our strong focus on vertical markets such as infrastructure, energy, agricultural productivity and sustainability will fuel our plans going forward.”
