Max Healthcare announced three top management appointments in a bid to strengthen its organisation.
Dr Ajay Bakshi has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Abha Agrawal as the Chief Operating Officer and Mr Ranvir Bhandari as the Chief Services Officer.
Max Group had earlier set up a task force to conduct day-to-day operations after its earlier CEO and Managing Director, Mr Pervez Ahmed, quit his post in September. The exact reason for Ahmed's exit is still not known.
The task-force was co-chaired by promoter and Max India Group Chairman, Mr Analjit Singh, and Max India MD, Mr Rahul Khosla.
Background
Dr Bakshi takes charge as the CEO from November 1. He was working as an associate Principal at Mckinsey & Company. He is a neurosurgeon by training.
Dr Agrawal joins the company on December 1. She is currently based in the US where she was the Chief Medical Officer at Kings County Hospital Centre in Brooklyn.
Mr Bhandari is currently the Executive Vice-Chairman of Max Ventures and will take on the additional role at Max Healthcare.
Max currently operates eight hospitals with 1,100 beds in the Delhi-NCR region and is opening four new hospitals.
This will take the total capacity to 1,900 beds.
Recently, South Africa-based Life healthcare acquired 26 per cent stake in the company for Rs 516 crore.
