You can now do online shopping without having to remember or pull out card details each time for making the online payments.

American Express has come up with a new payment solution called ezeClick that will make online shopping easy and more secure.

Elaborating on this payment facility, Sanjay Rishi, President, American Express India, said that ezeClick will eliminate the need for Amex cardmembers to have their card with them to perform an Internet transaction. Amex is an issuer of credit cards, charge cards and corporate cards.

Card members can now set themselves up with a one-time registration process and link their card to an unique user ID that they create. This user ID in combination with a one-time password is all that one will need to do an Internet transaction.

The user ID can be set for different Amex products or one can have multiple user ID for different products. This user ID is also good for the entire network of merchants who are on the platform.

Convenience, security

You don’t need to have separate user ID for say flipkart, ebay, bookmyshow or makemytrip, Rishi pointed out.

“Our customers will love this convenience and security as they are not sharing any data with the merchants. No card information is shared with the merchants. They just share the user ID. “From merchants’ perspective, more people will transact and this would enhance business for them. Transaction time is faster”, Rishi said.

Benefits

Smaller merchants will particularly benefit as they don’t need to conform to payment card international data security standards.

This facility will allow Amex cardholders to pre-fill customer data such as card number, expiry data, 4 digit CID and postal code that will be stored in eZeClick virtual wallet for future use.

This facility has been launched following the feedback on the difficulties faced by customers and e-commerce merchants in the payment process for online shopping.

“In fact, some leading e-tailers told us that one half of the reason why people prefer cash on delivery is not because they don’t have credit or debit card. It is because of easy use,” he said.

Already, for ezeClick, Amex has 40 leading e-commerce merchants signed including Vodafone, Makemytrip, Bookmyshow, Rishi said.
