Atul Auto Ltd, a leading three-wheeler manufacturer, has entered Bangladesh with the launch of its product Atul Gem, a rear-engine model with a six-seater capacity.

Atul Gem is the first six-seater passenger vehicle in Bangladesh. For this, the Rajkot-based Atul Auto has tied up with the Bangladesh-based Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd (AABL), which, in turn, has roped in Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Ltd (BMTFL) for assembling the vehicle, a company release said on Monday.

The objective for the tie-up is to promote sales of the vehicle manufactured by the company in Bangladesh.

The company will provide technical assistance to AABL for assembling the vehicles. Experts from technical team of the Company will supervise the assembling work of the vehicles at AABL. At present, the company does not propose to provide any financial assistance to AABL.

AABL's manufacturing facility at Rajkot, Gujarat, produces diesel as well as GNG/LPG operated three-wheeler commercial vehicles.

Bangladesh Industries Minister Dilip Barua, who inaugurated the company's function recently by taking a ride of the vehicle, said that the Bangladesh Government would provide tax holiday to Atul Auto and opportunity to take their profit through remittances if it sets up a factory in that nation, as this would help industrialisation and generate jobs.

Mr Motiur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of AABL and Mr Saifur Rahman, Managing Director, BMTFL, were also present.

Mr. Niraj Chandra- DGM, Marketing, Atul Auto Ltd, said the company expected sales worth Rs 20 crore in the first full year.

List at the BSE, Atul Auto Ltd has an installed annual capacity of manufacturing 24,000 vehicles at Rajkot and is the only company manufacturing front and rear engine models of three-wheelers.
