Defence enterprise BEML Ltd posted a Q4 loss of Rs 13.9 crore, against a net profit of Rs 40 crore for the Q4 in the previous fiscal.
Audited net profit for the entire fiscal 2011-12 nosedived 62 per cent y-o-y to Rs 57.25 crore (Rs 149.76 crore).
The company supplies earth movers, mining equipment, trucks and metro coaches to defence forces and civil customers.
Net sales income for the January-March 2012 quarter improved 35 per cent y-o-y to Rs 774.38 crore (Rs 573.55 crore).
For the full fiscal, net sales income was almost flat, a 2.5 per cent rise at Rs 2692.97 crore (Rs 2626.28 crore)
The board recommended 50 per cent dividend or Rs 5 a share.
The scrip closed marginally higher at Rs 429 on Thursday on the BSE.
