Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) provider BGR Energy Systems on Thursday announced an over 100 per cent increase in its net profit for the third quarter ending December 31, 2010.
The Chennai-based company reported a 109 per cent growth on its profit after tax at Rs 87.55 crore for the October-December quarter, as compared to Rs 41.91 crore during the same period previous fiscal, BGR Energy Systems said in a statement.
The net sales of the company for the reporting quarter also grew by 97 per cent to Rs 1,251.07 crore from Rs 635.14 crore during the same period last fiscal.
The operating margin was at 11.77 per cent and the earnings per share witnessed growth by 109 per cent from Rs 5.82 in the third quarter to Rs 12.14 for the same quarter in 2010-11.
On the future outlook, BGR Energy Systems said with the current order book size of Rs 9,317 crore, the company can sustain growth momentum.
BGR Energy Systems is well-positioned to harness opportunities in the Indian power sector as its EPC capabilities were consolidated by a recently concluded joint venture with Hitachi Group, the statement added.
