Chennai-based BGR Energy has reported a net profit of Rs 51.32 crore for the quarter ended September, compared with Rs 77.75 crore for the corresponding quarter of last year.
The company is into supply of ‘balance of plant' for thermal power projects and into doing ‘engineering, procurement, construction' jobs. Turnover and sales therefore depend on the orders on hand.
Its turnover for the quarter was Rs 770 crore as against Rs 1,133 crore previously.
BGR Energy has said in a press release that it was able to book orders worth Rs 527 crore during the quarter. It has also pointed out that it recently emerged the best bidder for the supply of four boilers of 800 MW capacity in a NTPC tender. The order, worth Rs 3,600 crore, is yet to be formally issued.
