BHEL RC Puram unit's pump division tested the 300th pump on February 28, going well beyond the set target of 297 pumps for the year 2010-11. With the testing, BHEL RC Puram has achieved its annual target a month ahead of the annual closure. The division is planning to complete 341 pumps by the year-end against the 227 manufactured during the year 2009-10, an increase by a whopping 50 per cent. The target for the year 2011-12 is 408. The division has been on a continuous growth track at an average annual growth of 67 per cent in the past decade. The division is further geared up to design and manufacture the pumps for Super Critical Thermal Power Stations for which firm orders are already available, a press release said.
