BMW Group India on Wednesday launched the 3 series Gran Turismo priced at ₹42.75 lakh (ex-showroom), which will be available in the market from next month.
Powered by 2-litre TwinPower turbo (four-cylinder) diesel engine, the new car has a combination of a sporty and elegant coupe design.
“Adding a unique and distinctive model variant to BMW's product line-up, it blends the BMW 3 Series sedan's spaciousness, together with a high seating position, the Gran Turismo is perfect for long trips," said Philipp von Sahr, President.
He said the new car will be manufactured in India from its Chennai plant. The company also showcased few other models, which will be launched in the Indian market soon.
The models include the all-new X5 sports utility vehicle and will be available in the market from third quarter (calendar) of this year. It will also be manufactured at the Chennai plant.
The company also unveiled the new M6 Gran Coupe, which will be launched as a completely built unit by middle of this year, Sahr said.
Planning to launch by the year-end, the company also unveiled the i8 hybrid car, powered by 1.5 litre three-cylinder petrol engine combined with battery power (electrical boost hybrid system).
