Refining major Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd is keen to supply LNG cargoes to Indian companies by 2018 from the oil block in Rovuma basin located off the coast of Mozambique in Southeast Africa, said the company’s Chairman R K Singh.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) in a consortium with ONGC Videsh and Oil India Ltd control about 30 per cent stake in the block.
On Friday, addressing the media after the annual general meeting, Singh said the LNG supply would be made by the consortium, which is currently operating the block. The block has a potential to produce about 35 to 65 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas out of, which BPCL can claim about six to seven tcf of gas, he said.
