Power distribution company BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL) is setting up a Rs 45-crore unmanned grid sub-station in West Delhi.
The foundation stone for the state-of-the-art 66/11 KV grid was laid on Tuesday in Hastasal by the Delhi Power Minister, Mr Haroon Yusuf, a BRPL release said. The grid, which involves laying of over 42-km of cables is scheduled to be completed within 12 months, the company said.
“This grid will fulfill demands of the residents and commercial establishments of this fast developing area. We are confident that BRPL will continue to be an equal partner in the future development of the area”, Mr Yusuf said.
Mr Gopal Saxena, CEO, BRPL, said “To begin with, the grid sub-station will have two transformers of 25 MVA each and the third transformer of 25 MVA will be added over a period of time, taking the total capacity to 75 MVA.”
At present, Hastsal and adjoining areas have a peak electricity load of 30 MVA (27.6 MW) and are being fed through five separate sub-stations located at a considerable distance.
