Have you ever worried the water you drink from the cooler could be contaminated? “Not any more, with our new range of water coolers,” says Blue Star, an air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration major which has teamed up with Eureka Forbes to launch storage water coolers with in-built Aquaguard water purifiers.
Usually, the water is purified online before it enters the storage tank inside the cooler. If not cleaned properly, the tank could become a breeding ground for bacteria. With the new technology, the water is again purified before it is dispensed.
“Blue Star and Eureka Forbes thought it prudent to leverage the core expertise in their respective areas to offer a comprehensive solution that provides chilled and purified drinking water which is safe,” said B Thiagarajan, Executive Director and President, Blue Star. The new line-up with inbuilt purifier comprises four models — three with UV (ultra violet) purification and one with RO technology. UV purification is preferred in markets with low total dissolved salts (TDS), while RO is ideal for high-TDS markets, explained AV Suresh, President and CEO, Forbes Professional, Eureka Forbes. This product range is positioned to cater to educational institutions, hostels, canteens, commercial establishments, factories and hotels.
“We expect that increased awareness about water purity and summer demand will drive growth for this product range,” Thiagarajan said. The range is priced upwards of ₹66,000 a unit.
