Carrefour Group has opened its first cash-and-carry store in South India in Bangalore under the name “Carrefour Wholesale Cash & Carry”.
The store, located in the western part of the city in the Binny Mills neighbourhood, is spread across 6,400 sq m. The store will offer more than 10,000 SKUs in food and non-food to business and professional customers, institutions, restaurants and local retailers and traders.
The company said the store in Bangalore has created significant employment opportunities for the local residents in the city itself by hiring more than 170 employees.
With the Bangalore opening, Carrefour WC&C India Private Ltd now has five stores including those in New Delhi, Jaipur, Meerut and Agra.
