Tata Sons chairman, Cyrus Mistry, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, at the state secretariat in Gandhinagar.
The delegation of Tata Group officials led by Mistry congratulated Ms Patel on her becoming the first woman chief minister of the state and thanked her for the support extended to the group’s various ventures in the state.
“Long-standing relationship between Tatas & Gujarat would be taken forward. Had a fruitful meeting with Mr Cyrus Mistry,” the chief minister posted on the microblogging website Twitter.
After meeting the chief minister, Mistry also paid a courtesy visit to state Finance and Energy Minister, Saurabh Patel.
Tata Group’s different subsidiaries have large investments in the state including Tata Motors’ Nano Plant at Sanand, Tata Chemicals’ unit at Mithapur, Tata Power’s Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP at Mundra and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has IT operations in Gandhinagar.
