Disgruntled workers of Dunlop India’s Shahgunj unit in the Hooghly district of West Bengal on Friday gheraoed the premises and protested against the management.
Pawan Ruia, Chairman, Ruia Group was said to be present inside the premises when protests took place.
It was, however, not clear as to what the demands of these workers were.
Sources said that a section of workers under the banner of Trinamool Congress’ trade union – INTTUC – were involved.
Workers started protesting after the Dunlop management took down some Trinamool flags that were put up at the factory gates.
There was, however, no official confirmation regarding the matter.
