Eicher trucks, buses sales rise 28%

Eicher Truck and Buses, part of Volvo-Eicher commercial Vehicles, has posted 28 per cent higher sale sin October at 4,205 units. Sales between January and October have gone up 27 per cent (40,038 units). In the five tonne and above commercial vehicle market, sales have increased 35 per cent to 4,135 units, while sales in the 5-12 tonne light and medium duty truck segment have gone up 23 per cent (2,969 units). In the bus segment, the growth has been 98 per cent to 480 units, while heavy-duty truck sales were up 68 per cent at 686 units. On the Exports front, Eicher Trucks and Buses sold 70 units in October. In 2011, the company has exported 2,492 units till date to around 26 countries.
