Emaar Properties today said that its office at Gachibowli, one of the IT hubs of Hyderabad, was attacked by a group of agitators and computers and windows smashed and a few of the company personnel were hurt. In a statement, Emaar described the incident as ‘unfortunate, and that this shows that the law enforcing machinery of the State of Andhra Pradesh has broken down.
The company further said “having delivered prestigious projects like HICC (convention centre-cum-five star hotel) and an 18-hole golf course in Hyderabad, we feel part of this State. We hope the State Government protects the interests of corporates, which is crucial for Andhra Pradesh's image as a future investment destination.”
