Fortis Healthcare Ltd on Tuesday said it plans to set up a Cardiac Centre at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (Coronation) Hospital at Dehradun under a public private partnership (PPP) with the Government of Uttarakhand.
The addition of this facility takes the Fortis network to a total of 55 hospitals with over 8,000 beds across the country.
Tier-II cities focus
The facility would be the first comprehensive cardiac care facility in Dehradun. The move is in line with Fortis' strategy of penetrating into India's tier II cities.
Under the arrangement, Fortis will invest in infrastructure and technology.
The proposed facility will have high end CCU, cath lab, cardiac OT, non-invasive diagnostic lab and Intensive Care Unit for cardiac surgery.
The initial phase of the contract shall be for a period of 10 years.
The facility is expected to become operational by November.
