The 300-MW thermal power generation unit of GMR Energy Ltd was synchronised with the grid last week, the company said today.
The GMR group is setting up two units of 300 MW capacity each at its Warora Plant on Chandrapur — Nagpur road and one of which was synchronised with the grid on December 10 after several technical trials, the company said in a press note.
According to Rohit Raaj Mathur, Associate Vice President of GMR Energy Limited, this was its first coal-based thermal power unit to be commissioned and the work was on to commission the second unit.
