GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd recorded a higher net profit of Rs 36.80 crore (consolidated and audited) for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011 against Rs 33.11 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
However, the fourth quarter revenues were impacted marginally and were down at Rs 476.35 crore against Rs 484.34 crore.
The revenues for the year ended March 31, 2011 were up at Rs 1,943.19 crore and the net profit was slightly lower at Rs 154.91 crore against revenues of Rs 1,815.82 crore and net profit of Rs 155.87 crore for the pervious financial year. According to a statement from Mr A. Issac George, Director and Chief Financial Officer of GVKPIL, the consolidated EBIDTA stood at Rs 533.85 crore for the year against Rs 488.85 crore for the year ago period.
He said the three gas-based projects — 464-MW GVK Gauthami Power Ltd, and 235-MW phase-I and 220-MW phase of GVK Industries — have recorded revenues of Rs 408 crore. However, they were not able to operate at full capacity due to restricted supply of gas.
While GVK Jaipur Expressway recorded an increase of 10.78 per cent in the revenue, Mumbai International Airport Private Ltd has registered an increase of 19 per cent and Bangalore International Airport Ltd, an increase of 16 per cent during the year.
