The Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, inaugurated the ‘no-frills' hotel chain under the Ginger brand in Tirupur on Saturday.
Operated by Roots Corporation , a subsidiary of the Indian Hotels Company Ltd (well known for the Taj chain of hotels), this 95-room budget hotel in Tirupur is the 25th in the Ginger series in the country, the second in the State next only to Chennai.
The Tirupur facility has come up on an one-acre plot on Kangeyam Road. The Corporation is all set to announce the launch of its third hotel in the Ginger series in the State at Vadapalani in Chennai.
Addressing media persons, the Chief Executive Officer of Roots Corporation, Mr Prabhat Pani, said the Corporation was planning to strengthen and penetrate its presence pan-India by focusing on commercial centres such as Bangalore (Koramangala), Faridabad, Jaipur, Greater Noida, Noida, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Mumbai in the coming months.
Ginger Hotels is now present in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, New Delhi, two at Pune at Pimpri and Wakad, Nashik, Panaji, Ludhiana, Guwahati, Haridwar, Bhubaneshwar, Thiruvananthapuram, Agartala, Jamshedpur, Mysore, Mangalore, Pondicherry, East Delhi, Indore, Surat and Chennai.
