Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has reported a 94 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 239 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. Net sales increased by 40 per cent at Rs 998 crore on a consolidated basis. In the domestic business, GCPL reported a net profit of Rs 221 crore with an increase of 97 per cent. Net sales stood at Rs 641 crore with an increase in 21 per cent. According to the company, the figures of the current quarter are not comparable with those of the previous quarter due to the acquisitions made since then. The board of directors has declared a first interim dividend of Re 1 a share.
