Godrej & Boyce completes unit buy

Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company, part of the diversified business conglomerate Godrej Group, has completed the acquisition of the polyurethane foam business of Somany Foam Ltd, for an undisclosed amount. Somany Foam is owned by the promoters of Hindusthan National Glass Industries, a container glass manufacturing company. The deal includes the acquisition of the PU foam manufacturing plant of the company. The acquisition is aimed at helping Godrej Interio, the furniture business unit of Godrej & Boyce, to make an entry into the business of polyurethane foam.
